Personal Reflections
	I was three days short of turning thirteen when one night, while on a youth retreat, the eyes of my heart were opened to the truth about Jesus and my need of Him. That wonderful night at 10:30pm April 14 1978 my Lord Jesus Christ came into my heart and I was gloriously born again. On December 5, 1999 after Sunday morning service my pastor at the time, Dr. Kelly Burris, asked me to give my testimony on that Sunday evening. While Dr. Burris was asking me to give my testimony the Lord spoke crystal clear to me that He was calling me to preach. The way the Lord spoke to my heart was very clear and it caused me to take a step back and even took my breath away. With my heart racing and all flushed I told the pastor I would, however I tried to run from this calling of the Lord to preach for almost three and half years until the weight of it was beginning to become more than I could handle. Through a series of events two people close to our family recommended out of the blue that I should go to Seminary. I set up an appointment with my pastor and when I went in and told him what was going on he said God had already told him and he was just waiting on me. After another series of events my wife and I strongly felt God leading us to sell our home and business and move to Wake Forest, NC. to go to school. By faith we trusted God and sold it all and went to Southeastern where God has shown His faithfulness all the way.
Statement of faith
	I believe in a literal Trinity made up of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I believe in a literal heaven and hell. I believe that we are all born in sin and therefore we are separated from God. I believe that God the Son (Jesus) came to earth born of a virgin (Mary) and lived a sinless life. I believe that Jesus, God the Son, was crucified on a cross and raised from the dead on the third day so that one could be united in fellowship with God the Father and have eternal life. I believe that once one has truly repented and placed their faith and trust in the completed work of Jesus they are saved and indwelt and sealed by God the Holy Spirit. I believe that the Holy Bible is the living, active Word of God and is without error. I believe that Jesus has ordained the Church as His means of spreading the Gospel today.
